flasher MXA'S SECRET JETTING SPECS

     

I thought this could be helpful for some guys I couldnt find it doing a search.

MXA'S SECRET JETTING SPECS--DEC 3, 2003


We can't tell you how to jet your bike. It's a big world out there (and we don't know you all that well). However, we can tell you what jetting we run in the MXA test fleet. Take into account that we race in a Mediterranean climate, near sea level, within sight of palm trees and never far from a Double Latte. We also run fresh 92-octane gas, work on our bikes every week, clean the filters, change pistons and rings regularly, are alert to pinging and haven't changed oil brands in over a decade.

This is the brass we run in '03-
'02- '01 (and ran in '00-'99-'98-'98-'97)

Who is MXA? And why do all of the aftermarket jetting spec sheets I see always go leaner?? Is it because the jetting from the factory is rich? I run the stock specs and I would change it up, but I've heard and believe that it is way better to be right outside of rich than lean, to prevent motor damage. Now, if I was competitively racing it would be an entirely different story, but I use my hard earned cash rebuilding my bike I don't want to screw it up over some random lean jetting....Just wondering if anyone else notices this and could elaborate on WHY for me! Thanks for posting

black cr, if you run it leaner you can probably run a 32:1 oil mixture and run some higher octane fuel with it.
