Default Honda CR500 parts cross reference

While working on my 91 CR500 I've come across a few small, relatively unknown changes between the different years of CR500's. I was going to start compiling a list of all the differences for future reference, then I was reminded on another forum of a spreadsheet I had seen previously:
Honda CR450 CR480 CR500 Bike ID

This list is fairly comprehensive list that I intend to add to when time permits. I'm also hoping to capture what the changes are in certain parts and if it affects cross fitting or not (for example, certain brake calipers have different part numbers but will interchange with no issues). Hope this helps the 500 fanatics out there.

This will be good. Parts interchangeability is always a handy tool to have when searching for 'that one important yet hard to find part'.......

Maybe someone can tell me which cylinder head is the best head to use for my CR500.? I owned four cr500's 1990,1998,2000 and now a 2010 Service Honda CR500af. I have noticed that the cylinder head on my 1990 was different than the one on the 1998 up. The dish in which the sparkplug sits is different in size and deepnest. I had them cc checked. the 1990 head cc less than the 1998 head. So I run that head. thinking it would give me more compression. The only thing is my 2010 cr500af runs better with the newer head design. Any thoughts on this Thanks

As far as the bike itself goes well It handles great! I would just like it to have the same power delivery as my 2000 did. A stock CR500 egine is verry violent. I do love it its a blast. I had my 1990 cylinder bored out to eliminate the decompression port above the exhaust ports. Then had it ported plus I had the carb bored out to 40mm. It was the smoothest fastest engine ever. I put that package on my 2000 cr500. Then stupid me, I sold it when I bought the 2010 Service Honda. I want to make that the same way. The cylinder was bored out by North West sleeve then they pressed one of their sleeves in to make it a stock bore size again. I know I could have just bored 20 or 30 over. But thats not what I wanted.
