Here are the pics Steve (Blue Beast) wanted posted.

I have cropped both of them so they are smaller and should load quicker.

DOH!!

Looks like the Image option is turned off for this forum. I can see from the bottom options that it is indeed turned off.

None the less you can still click on the links and see the pics.

If someone wants to have one of the admin mods turn this option on for this forum you will be able to see the pics without having to click on them.

James,

Is the template I drew correct?

I have a couple of guys over on the WR$xx side at TT saying it is wrong... I tried to explain I got the pics from one source and the template dimensions from you, another source... the pics were not of the one you have described, but offer an illustration of the principles and the basic fitting technique...

I said I would check with you and get back to them... perhaps you could pop over and explain your "longer than the pictures show" one to them...

Any other pics or changes, just let me know...

Cheers,

David

David..
the pic is spot on.. and i did make mine slightly longer than the original. the original sits flush with the bell, mine protrudes a bit more... to smooth it out a bit more and be different for patent reasons...

i will check TT and let them know...

thanks for your help! the offer stands, i will send you one if you like.

James

It should work with any bike, all you need to do it to adjust the dimensions to suit... for smaller bore carbs, you would have to make the plate narrower... to suit the bore of the intake throat, and perhaps shorten the length... though as long as it doesn't hit the slide, the airbox side can be a bit longer... A flat slide carb would be best, but once again, you could modify the end to be concave and more closely 'seal' up to the slide...

if the KTM has the same intake bore, then you are in business... you can always trim the length back with tin-snips if it is too long for the KTM... It will work with the CRF, all sorts of bikes... Just need to get the dimensions right for that model... see how it is put into the bike, and you will see how big it needs to be on your bike...

Cheers,

David

The latest Version of the PDF file is now up...

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

There was some confusion between the pictures and the templates... hopefully you will now be able to see the different approaches people have taken in doing this mod...

Cheers,

David
