| Well, this one is no competition for Master Dogger's work, but it sure has been fun! Picked this up a year ago and now it's ready to race a Post Vintage MX National next weekend. I'm guessing I'll be the only bike on the line with barkbusters. Talk a budget building. A wire wheel on my drill was my best friend at times..... DC Plastics '80 RM125 front fender and sidepanels. Got both as seconds for peanuts and the rear fender is an eVil Bay '83 RM125 $9.99 special. NOS spokes frt and rear. Got one of the last two rear sets remaining in the Zuki parts system. NOS Answer muffler for an RM125 modified to fit. And in a move that would make the Nitro Circus proud, I faked some stripes with tape. Take any bets they make it through the 1st practice? |

| Awsome job, Although not Doggers calibur, I find yours more intresting, because you are actually going to ride an race it!! I just have a hard time with restoring a bike to let it sit as a display. They were built to run!! So when you race it post some pics!! Congrats ! ...Jerry |

| Hey Andy! I know you did your best to get the restore done, but I do know that there is one small problem with it. It has a loose nut behind the handle bars It really came out nice & it looks like it will be fun to race. Please give us a race report after it trial run on the MX track. |

| Sweet ride Andy, and nice job on bringing her back to life. Refresh my memory, was the PE series originally a street/ trail bike or hardcore trail only? By the way, if your black stripes come off, buy a sheet of universal fit black number plate background. Cut yourself some new stripes using that material and I can almost guarantee they won't come off. Quote:
collectors" any more than you, that's why I'm taking a break from the pure vintage builds and am putting together a 1993 CR250 to race. It's not vintage but it's not current either and I can ride it as hard and as fast as I want and still get replacement parts - for now at least. dogger |

| Thanks guys. No show bike, just should be a good solid rider. Spent a few minutes on it yesterday and it handles great. And THIS bike even has some suspension! Loose nut....."why I oughta......." Leroy, no real "hit" in the powerband, just good pulling from idle all the way up. I like it. Dogger, PE's were dirt only here in the U.S. Aussies and UK(?) got street legal versions w/turn signals, batteries, ect I think. I'll post a write-up of some kind after Casey. My fiancee is a good picture taker too. |

| Ride/race report: Bike worked well (ok, 1 minor glitch to reveal...) Suspension suited me and the little engine ran like a top all day. This bike is capable of things I can't do..... And those that know me well know I don't jump much. I cleared a little baby step-up thing 1st lap of practice that had always scared me and did it all day long. Wouldn't be nothin' for you young'ns, but it was big for me. LOL! 1st moto: 8 in my class. A couple of 250 YZ/RM's and the rest big-bores. GREAT. Surprisingly, it got off the line well and I wasn't dead last to the 1st turn! My NOS muffler didn't quite clear the suspension linkage and got fubared. Had to make a pit stop and pull it out from between the tire and swingarm. Still finished 4th that moto..... 2nd moto: Went to the line minus the sidepanel and muffler. Jill told me she could always tell where I was. Now to hack on a nasty looking original muffler for 2 daze of Cross Country racing next weekend. This thing should rock in the woods. The little 1-7-5 trying to run with the big motors. Can't jump my Super rat like this! |

| Cool.Great to see someone using a bike they way it was built to be used.Surprised you didn't it?Looks like the tape stuck better than the muffler. |

long? It looked like a good fit in the picture. Looks like you had a ball and the noise from your unsilenced exhaust probably intimidated your competition, improving your results in the second moto (though it sounds like you would have had similar results in the first moto without the pitstop). All in all, I would say this 'zook is a big success. dogger |

| Aw man....I wish I had thought of that one! We stroked the suspension through and THOUGHT it would clear. It was an RM125 muffler we thought could be made to work. |
