restoring 82 rm 250, didn't come with a cylinder head. i've spent hours combing the internet and ebay. bike bone yard lists one ,but they said they already sold it. any ideas of where else to look? i did all the regular googling.... there is a 84 head on ebay what are the chances of that working good?

According to the OEM part finder at midwestactioncycle.com the 84 head is the same part number as the 82 head... go get that one off ebay! Hurry!

no on that site the head gasket part numbers are the same but they don't have a part # for the head it's self... but i think your right though i'm gonna buy it. the squish and dome cc could be different even if it fits, but if you read the history of the RM 250, 82 was fast then in 83 they changed the squish on the head and it sucked, but a 82 head would go right on an 83 and thats what everyone was doing.. then in 84 they copyed some racers 1983 bike, which of course would've had an 82 head on it cuz they all new the 82 head was better.. yes!!

I just checked Alpha Sports and the '82-'83 had the same p/n but the '84 was different. Your right about the '82 head being a better design, maybe you could find one but they are getting rare, show up on ebay every now and then.

i went ahead and ordered the 84 head after i made the last post...the rm 250 history i found says that they copyed some mx racers 1983 race bike and produced that as the 1984 model. just basically made a copy of his bike. if thats true then he would have deffinately been using an 82 head, making them identical..
