| I'm tired of sending springs back and forth to no avail with the present stiff shocks on my 78 Husky 250 OR. Would these be a good alternative so I can dial it in more to my weight and riding style? Which are 170 lbs and trail/ fire road riding. Are they reliable, easy to rebuild? Impressions and real time experience greatly appreciated. Thanks ,Rob in Walla Walla, WA |

| All right! A Husky man! What shocks are you running now? VintageDave and BigMaico may have a better idea, but if the lengths are the same, I might try to find a set of Ohlins from an 84 model and rebuild them. I have no experience with the airs (other than drooling at the looks!) I had a new 84 WR and it handled great. I also owned a 78 CR250, but don't remember what it had. Fox Air shocks are expensive IF you can find them. I also think Works Performance would have shocks that length and they seem to be on alot of Vintage and Post-Vintage racers. |

| It has Progressive Suspension shocks on it now and they are too stiff. I bought new springs based on their suggestion for my weight and have been swapping springs with them to get softer ones but all have been stiffer then the ones I want to replace. I'm thinking that the next ones coming are their softest and will be exactly like whats on it now. The forks and rear shocks don't hardly give when I sit on it. Riding it just has no feeling for contact with mother earth because it is so stiff. I was asking about the older vintage Fox shocks with no springs outside.
