Default buying '82 YZ 250

New to this site and wanted to get some input on an original, unmolested '82 YZ250 that is for sale in my area. It's a very nice bike and still has original chain and sprockets and tires.
I rode a '80 YZ250 back in the day and want to re-live my youth somewhat and this bike looks to be the best thing in my area as far as vintage MX sales are concerned.
The price is $1500.
What do y'all think? Were there any service issues with this vintage?

here are the pics in members gallery.
your input is appreciated.

Buy it! Looks like it's close to a museum piece to me. I (like you) got back into riding a few years ago. Although I own/ride/race nothing but vintage bikes now, I would recomend picking up something modern if you want to ride alot. I don't like beating up unnecessarily on a vintage bike. That's why you need to buy the YZ and another newer one to ride! Have fun.

Yeah, I'm not wanting to race or beat it up, just an occasional ride at the local MX park.
I'm in to old musclecars so I know that care is a top priority for me.

Were you at 3 palms today by any chance? I thought I might have seen that bike on our way out.

Congrats on the purchase, that really is a beautiful bike.

Wow... incredible find! It looks like it just rolled off the showroom. A former ATM member (Satch0922) restored a bike very similar to, if not just like that one a few years back. I remember he had some problems with the radiator leaking where it passes through the triple clamps. Congrats on the purchase, you've got yourself a real gem there!

The bikes not perfect but it's rare.
Carb needs a little tuning and one fork seal seems to leak justa little bit but other than that everything else is good.
