No kidding. Your work looks better than of some of the "big name" restorers out there. Ever think of going into buisness?

That is a beautiful resto brother!!! Nice work!
Where were you able to find all the O.E.M. parts? Where they n.o.s. parts?
Really nice work.

I really enjoy the work and the challenge, but I pour so much blood, sweat
and tears into these bikes I could never think of selling them.

I started this build with a very complete bike and was able to restore rather
than replace a ton of parts. Of course I replaced all the wear items like tires,
chain, cables, clutch pack, sprockets, along with every snap ring, thrust
washer and spring inside the engine and every other bearing and seal on
the bike. I also replaced any nut and bolt that was still available from
Honda but many had to be restored.

The NOS parts include levers, grips, cables, fork gators, piston/rings, bearings
and seals, gaskets, intake, air cleaner, fenders, seat, side panel strap, rims
brake shoes and decals.

My goal was to not only visually reproduce the bike to the same way it looked in
1979, but to reproduce that nice tight feel a new bike has. No floppy kickstarter,
no sacked springs, no worn out brakes, etc. This bike starts on the second kick
when cold and the first when warm. The clutch feel and shifting is precise and
the power and braking are stellar by 1979 standards.

Unfortuantely, do to the cost and scarcity of parts, this Red Rocket will spend
it's time in a climate controlled shop or being displayed at the various show and
shines. That's really sad to all the rider/racers out there, but it's far better than
the scrap heap. I also believe this bike (and all the other iconic models), provides
a great testament to all the up and comers out there, as to where we came
from as motocrossers.

Just my two cents.

I fall into that catagory- I want to ride everything! But it's also good to see guys preserving bikes and making them museum pieces. It IS neccesary for the future.....
