Default Tribute to Motoman393

In response to your questions about the existence of Motoman393 as a user here at our board, I would like to announce the following:

For those that are not aware of Motoman393 and his history, I would invite you to view the Memorial Forum that was created in his honor at Thumpertalk.com. It is a history worth reading as it explains the friendship, bond and comradrie exhibited here on this board as many of the Mods and Admins were all permanently drawn together as a result of Garretts passing.

For your convenience, here is a link to the Memorial Forum:

Garrett Michael Berg, aka Motoman 393 or just plain Motoman was a wonderful, talented, gracious young man that helped many throughout the world via Thumpertalk.com and those that he personally interacted with. Unfortunately, his time was cut short last fall in a Motocross accident at his favorite Motocross track in Splendora, TX.

As an initial tribute to this fine young man, ATM has altered the forum software to reflect his presence with us here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will always see Motoman393 logged on here.

I appreciate your concern with the use of the user name, but in this case it is intended and fitting!

Tyler,
that is a very nice tribute to him. i too thought someone was using the name and unless he had Motodad's permission, i would have said that is not cool.

This, however is very nice touch. i never got the chance to chat with Garrett, but his site has helped me as well as helped me help my friends with their bikes... i am glad he will be with us here always.

Default This Tribute to my Son .......

Tyler, ATM,
This is a fine tribute to my Son. It is cool to see "Motoman393" logged on all the time. I remain deeply amazed and humbled that my Son has had such an impact on MX - via the internet highway. I know at times I will log on and it will be just me and Garrett - feels good.

Life can be difficult at times now, even thought I have excellent memories with my Son. It is people like you that make it easier for me. Someday I hope I can understand how my Son had such an impact on people that never met him.

I remember riding with him at different tracks and people would see his bike and say, "hey aren't you Motoman393?" He would always reply humbly "yeh that me - Garrett Berg, nice to meet you" and he would always extend his hand. The conversations then always broke into Yamatalk. I remember being amazed that so many knew him - I would always chime in and say "I'm his Dad!" I was always so proud - and still am.

Thanks for honoring my Son.

You should be Proud

Mike,
You certainly have every right to be proud of Garrett. His spirit and actions embody the true essence of dirt bikes as I was taught it should be. He shared with everyone and helped everyone that needed it. Thaks to you and Suzette for allowing to share a little of you son and his wonderful warmth.
