It's actually 25 for a custom avatar, and 50 for a sig, or maybe it's the other way around. Regardless, you'll get a PM as soon as you hit 25 and it will tell you what group you have been added to, and the name of the group will tell you what you now have access to do.

Awesome! Thanks for your help guys! This site seems to very helpful from the posts that I have read so far. I used to ride all the time but then football got in my way when I was starting H.S. and found out that football would be paying for my school way before motocross so I quit riding as much. I just got another bike about a month ago. So I will be having several questions in the near future so my signature and custom avatar will come around SOON. Hahaha! Thanks again guys!

Very cool, it's funny how we all ride, then something else takes over for a while, but we always return. At least most I know do, including me.

Glad you like the place, we try to keep a nice and civil atmosphere, so it's great to hear that we are making progress

Yep, I have never found someone that could stay totally away from riding once they started.

I couldn't agree with you guys more! I was out of riding but hated every minute of not having a bike. Ha! Now I am back in the game!

Wow....I am sorry to hear about thier accidents.

I have spent some time in the ICU myself, and it's no fun thats for sure.

How long ago did the accident take place?

August of 01. They are both fine now. You would never know anything happened to my bro. and it took 3 years after the accident but my ol'man is fine again his one leg is about an inch an half two inches shorter than the other. But he still flies high. My bro was riding a 250R quad and my ol'man was on a brand new cr250. It was like his third ride on it and it got totaled. The quad.....no one had ever seen anything like it. The nose of the frame was side ways.

FQC,
That is a rough thing to witness. Jim and I have been through the wringer lately and can identify with the feelings. ICU time and lots of metal parts in our bodies. ATM is here for all our members. I hope you and your brother and father find some peace with what you have had to go through.

Bill

FQC,
I am the resident surgical patient here. Eleven surgeries since 2000, three on my back and 8 on the abdomen. Back is stabilized with two titanium braces from L4-S1 vertebrae and 4 Ti screws with 2 Ti cages on bone grafts where the disc were removed, 2 laminectomies failed within 11 months, the first one was one week after riding back to back classes of four motos at GMB I (I am slightly nuts, just ask around) 3rd time was a charm. Took the paralysis I had to drag around in my right leg for 14 years and made racing much easier. Unfortunately the scar tissue choked off the small intestine while I was under anesthesia and the didn't know for two days and I was taken back (man Monica can drive fast when she needs to) after 9 days for a complete ab and intestinal reconstruction.

Unfortunately I have severe scar tissue growth in the abdomen around my small intestine that chokes it off every few years due to a ruptured appendix that went into gangrene of the peritoneum in 2000 after I was sent home only to burst the staples and eviscerate the intestine completely. That was the life flight trip and first ICU visit. They left the incision open to heal so ICU time for a sterile environment.

Last summer after the 7th reconstruction and scar tissue removal from the intestine I came home but my kidneys failed and I went into a coma. That was an ambulance ride and the second ICU visit. There were two reconstructions in August 2005.

I had the 8th reconstruction in late November due to MRSA infections caused by four knicks (fistulas) in the bowel infecting the PTFE mesh they used to rebuild the ab wall. Seems to be okay this time with only 2 abcess so far. I have been back ay my job as an engineer since 3 January 07. I hope to get back to practice and then racing with my son , John (Madcow393 or the Sandbagger)by the end of this month.

Jim and I are the local survivors of extreme misfortune and experts on morphine.

Bill
