Default Lost HD and Data, but we're back!

Well, I hope we are out of the woods. I had a hard drive fail, and with it went all my data including my back up data. So we are now back online, however, we lost all data from 11/20 through when the server crashed (yesterday).

So if you posted something during that time frame, I am sorry to report that it's been lost.

If you registered as a new user in that time frame, you will need to re-register.

Again, I'm really sorry, this month has been NOTHING but a head ache. I am making arrangements for some better hardware for the server so we don't have to keep doing this.

Thanks as always for your patronage.

Jonathan

Do you want us to take up a collection so you can pay your light bill?

Have you considered setting up your server in a RAID 5 configuration? I'm sure some people would gladey donate money to help you get the necessary equipment.

its a way to set up your server running a minimum of 3 HDD so if one goes down the other 2 has the back up for it. So if this were to ever happen again all you would have to do is replace the faulty HDD and it would self replicate the lost data.

Thanks everyone, I do appreciate it.

I have considered Raid 5, (currently raid 1) but due to the cost on a monthly basis (the server is leased from a hosting company) I have not opted to go that route yet. One day we'll have to go that way I know.

The site does make money from the advertisements, and pays for itself so there is no need for anyone to contribute any money. I do appreciate the offers though.

AND WE'RE BACK!

Ok, that is much better. We lost the data from today (which wasn't much compared to what we had lost prior to the 2nd restore).

If you created a new account today, please create a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience.

In the next few weeks we'll have some more down time because it's time I left this host behind in the dust. I'll let you know when that's all going to go down.

Thanks again everyone for you patience while I got this sorted out... AGAIN.
