gripe Yes another race fuel debate!

Okay i will keep it simple, why does MR 11 vp race fuel give you 2hp more on a stock bike? Has been confirmed on the dyno by several well known people. Check the specs it's only 90 octane

VP MR11 Racing Fuel (5 US Gallon)
Product Ref: VP-MR11

MR11 - NEW - Recommended for 4-stroke applications where octane requirements are fairly low, e.g. Supersport, Superbike, Formula Extreme, Supermoto and MX. Delivers up to 6% more power than pump gas and any basic nonoxygenated racing fuel. AMA legal except Supercross and Outdoor Nationals.

Color: Yellow
Oxygenated: Yes
Motor Octane: 90
Specific Gravity: .749 at 60° F

I'm not sure what the debate is about?

Is it oxygenated? check
Is the octane low (compared to most other race fuels)? Check

Sounds like a winning combo to me. Probably spendy, but if those 2 extra ponies are what you are after it's sounds like a great solution to me.

I think most Oxygenated race fuels give you at least 1 more hp, so combine that with the lower Octane level and I can see 2 hp easy.

Spendy yes, $25 a gallon however! The bikes are that good now stock you can get a 250f to put out almost 40 hp by running race fuel, a pipe, and re mapping. That's a lot cheaper than bombing an engine that needs a rebuild every 15 to 20 hours. So the Oxygenation is the key in all this fuel configuration, i take it.

Oxygen is one point, and having as low of octane as you can is the other.

You produce the most power from fuel when the Octane is as low as it can be before detonation.
