Default Yamaha Going Red, White and Black

Well at least for one race

To commemorate their 50th Anniversary, and a successful year in racing this season, Yamaha has decided to adopt the company's traditional red, white and black racing colour scheme for the last round of the 2005 MotoGP World Championship at Valencia.

The move follows the Yamaha Factory Team's decision to race in the traditional yellow and black US racing colours in the US MotoGP round at Laguna Seca earlier in the season. As a result, the YZR-M1 machines of Yamaha Factory Team riders Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards will sport the red, white and black colours as seen on many of Yamaha's factory racing bikes from the past.

Back in 1975, exactly 30 years ago, Yamaha won its first GP500 world championship with Giacomo Agostini riding the then revolutionary two-stoke OW23 YZR500, which was also painted in Yamaha's corporate racing colours.

Back when. I remember in World Superbike, Nori Haga was racing for the Yamaha team and was sporting those colors. Except where it's white on those bikes, it was red. And it had minor differences than that stuff. Oh and it's not plastic It's carbon fiber

Him funny! Actually the only bike I ever owned that wasn't a yamaha was a kawi...it was a 1972 KE100 10 speed....weighed a ton but was indestructible!

BTW...those white and red YZ's looked like crap! LOL

The white and red GP bikes look sweet though.

my brother had one of those pink... err, red and white Yamaha YZ125 back in the '80's. I want my Fuscia back!

BTW, those colors look good on the street bikes. I bet they were hard to keep clean.
