Default XR100 mod or move up?

My son is 11 and weighs about 70lbs. He rides a stock xr100. He rides track and trail. He rides well and is clearing 30' tables with his bike. He won't attempt any doubles and I wouldn't expect him to with this bike. Lately he has been bottoming his suspension with his jumps. My question is, should I upgrade the springs with the BBR package? Do you think this will help or will they be to stiff? I want him on a CR85 but he is still a little short. Not sure if he's ready. Any suggestions?

I'd go for the 85. It will last him longer, and he'll be better for it.

Or hold out for the AMA to change the rules and get the first YZ150F that comes down the pipe . . .

the ktm 65s are indeed VERY fast, i can vouch for that having ridden one and i can say it is as quick if not quicker than my kx85, but maybe not as fast, as in, top speed

but yeah get him a ktm65 then in about 2 years he can get a 100 or if hes grown a whole lot maybe even go straight to a 125
good luck

BTW, that track in your sig looks fun
