Default Wow! LLqual at Budd's

Okay I just got back from the Loretta Lynn area qualifier at Budd's Creek and all I can say is wow.

There were so many RVs I could hardly find a place to park my Ranger. In 125C stock class there were 98 racers. I was scared to death and I think I finished like 24th, I got a terrible start and had to work my way up from the back. So no I did not qualify for the regional, but I still had one heck of a time. I mean it was absolutely nuts there. Riders came from all over the country and I got to see some of the fastest riders in the country I believe.

I still have 2 more races where I can qualify and now that I'll know what to expect, I think I should be able to.

Here's a warning to watch out for a rider named Randall Everett. He's from Virginia and he qualified in like 250A, 125A Pro Sport, and probable another class. He dominated! But the coolest thing was on Henry Hill he would whip it over and scrub speed just like Bubba. He had that thing laaaaaiiiid flat, and people were lining up to see him.

To bad I have NO pics!! sorry

scrubbing like bubba is a lot harder. try to turn you handle bars on the end of lip without leaning in, that works for me plus it looks cool.

Good job CRacer. 24th is not bad at all. We know you'll do better at the next qualifier. I'm sure now you have a better idea what to expect and who your competition is now. Keep workin', you'll get there.

Lake Whitney had their Spring National last week. Keep in mind it competes with Speed Week in Daytona and various LL Qualifiers. They had 3000 entries. Of course the Beginner & C classes were beyond full (with sandbaggers as always).

BTW, before promoters figured out that having ability classes meant more entries, we used to just run displacement classes. : I raced a regional race back in 1973 and we had 78 125's on the line. Rubber band start. The starting line was 2 deep all the way across. First turn was a 180 left hander wide enough for 4 bikes.

98 riders on the track seems like it would be impossible to even ride, let alone RACE, I've been on a track with 50 riders and that was tough to ride since the lines you were using when no one else was on the track are probably not available or otherwise occupied by another rider.

Hey thanks everybody!
Yes, they divided us in 2 divisions. But still there was 40 riders on the line, they didn't have one more open gate. I'm really looking forward to going to more LL qualifiers and hopefully they won't be as crowded!

Practice was the craziest part of the whole day. There were 98 C racers, and they didn't split the practices into two divisions. So, if you can believe it, there were around 90 racers on the track at the same time. The line for C class practice went past staging, and almost out in the parking lot!

Crazy Dave, that sounds nuts!!!
