Default windham looks slow (has race results)

boy i'll bet woody jumps right in this one

i have taped the race last weekend and have watched it several times now. windham just flat out looks like he is going slow. it looks like he almost stops im alot of the corners.

at the end of the first moto he went from a 16 sec lead to an 18.5 second lead in a lap and a half. I would have sworn that rc was catching him.
in the 2nd moto the same thing. in the flat turns he looks like he is crawling compared to RC.

smoothness is what creates this illusion. the bike and the rider. instead of the bike swapping all around in the corners he just rides around smoothly. looks slower, but try and catch him.

kw also gave a spectacular interview. he alwasy compliments the guys he beats, is thankful and humble. he would make a great champion. too bad it won't be this year.
mabey SX?

Yardpro:

My racing partner's keep telling me to "Go slow to go fast" by this they mean be smooth & consentrate on your lines! I've started taking this advise & it works so well you just can't believe it! I've quit taken dirt samples & got much faster by working on my riding style & position, It also keep me from getting tired quickley.

Your right about Windham does look like he's stopping in the corners! But he's still beating R.C. !

I agree, Windham is one of those riders that make it look easy.

While he isn't as fun to watch as RC, his fluidity is unreal.

Default K-Dub

I love watching riders not bikes. I am not a bike RC fan (and many would say that it is because I ride Blue). That is not the case. I am so excited to see K-Dub kickin butt...know why?? Because he is one of us!!!!

BTW...I AM NOT a big Reed or DV fan...blue or not. Timmy Ferry?? He is GOOD PEOPLE!

My bro must be holding out on us. No comments. I can see why he likes him, he's definitely classy.

LOL, You are funny Yardpro. Your right though, I'm a sucker for a KDUB post.

I have to say I thought the same thing. I thought he looked slower, but the facts speak for themselves.

I think Big M hit the nail on the head. You have to go slow to go fast. When you are smooth you don't have to work as hard, and hard work (RC style) looks fast (and he is fast), but that doesn't always mean he is going around the track faster than the other guy that looks slower.

The same applies to the way a two stroke hits a corner vs a 4 stroke. The 2 stroke sounds waaaay faster, but that isn't necessarily true.

Ahhh, I just love watching him ride. He does make it look so easy. For the person on the outside, they would think it looks easy to do what he does, but as riders we know he has serious skills.

I just think he is classy. I really liked the "Every time I race RC, I learn something from him. Win or Lose, I learn something."

As for Ferry... Satch you are right, he is in the same group as Windham. Ferry is my 2nd fav. They don't come much better than ferry.

Those of you that get TWMX mag, on like page 15 there is a thor addvertisement (I think it is thor??? don't have my mag). You can see the Motoman393 sticker on his helmet. He's class for sure.

To set the record straight, I don't hate RC by any means, I just love the underdog, and I really latched onto Windham's story for some reason... The come back, the fails under pressure, everything. I really respect him for what he is doing. I feel the same way about Hughes, but not quite on the same level.

yea, i like whindam for the same reason. i also like ezra and ferry. i like hughes, and god help them the whole suzuki team.

hey, there's an idea, as a sell point with a suzuki you get some seriously reduced healty insurance.

i dislike DV because of the MC backstabbing he did while in france.
i have latched onto KW as well. i felt so bad for him when we saw him break his femer in atlanta. he was awesome in the pits.

I think probably the biggest thing that got me thinking about him was on the end of "The Great Outdoors" DVD there is a little blurb they do on KDub, and they talk about the pressure, etc, and how good he is on the practice track, and how the pressure on the race track just kills him... Anyway... In a MX type of way, it touched me, and I started to like him (I didn't follow MX/SX before I got my bike in September, so I didn't know anything about him before that DVD).

Then, when I found out he was going to be riding a CRF!!! well that sealed the deal... He was the perfect rider for me to root for. And now as you all know, I DO!

As for Lusk, I just wish he would do something.. Even when he is on, he is still waaaay off the leaders. He seems like a really good guy though.

Did anyone else notice the Motoman393 sticker on his helmet in the rag?

Another thing that makes him look slow is that he sits down a lot. David Bailey commented on it and I think that makes him appear less fast.

man woody you need to put "AKA woody CRF" in your kdub sig, and "AKA woody kdub" in your WoodyCRF sig.
