I guess I started riding because my Dad had a bike (a 305 Dream at first, different bikes through the years) and rode me on it when I was a kid. Same reason I started racing hydroplanes.

Boxes of photos and old 8mm movies laying around the house with stuff like this:

And, the weekend rides like this:

Made me pretty determined to pilot my own some day. Only 3 of 5 kids in the family were influenced by Dad to ride.

My mom's side of the family is all very close (2 brothers and one sister) and the entire extended family all grew up together camping, riding, hunting, etc. One of the things I really miss about not being close to home anymore.

My Aunt and Uncle had motorcycles and they rode to our home from Ohio. My uncle rode a Yamaha 250 two stroke, saddle bags/windshield and my Aunt rode a Honda 305 Dream four stroke.

I got my first ride with my Uncle Harold and I was hooked. I finally conned my dad into buying me a bike (that he controlled the key for) so I could make it to work on time during High School. It worked.... It was a 1971 Suzuki Duster, high rev-expansion chamber....... somehow I lived through the ordeal. I was major hooked on bikes. Still am!

Well, I still ride and find it the most relaxing and enjoyable thing I can do to control my psychic. Mostly ride a 113 cu in (1900 cc) Yamaha Raider S these days, but now that I have two new hips, I may ride the ole YZ450F again. Not sure yet.

Ride safely all.

I had seen the original release of On Any Sunday in 1972 and I had a paper route that was pretty good money for a 15 Y.O. kid. I got a Honda SL 125K1 Turtle Chaser and learned the basics on that bike. You could not kill that thing. I started serious MX racing in January 1973 when I got an OSSA Stiletto 250 and went from there. Several bikes to include a Maico 400 and several RM Suzukis until 1983. I returned in 2000 to teach and ride with my son, John. We still ride and race together when he is at home from missions.

Semper Fi,
Bill

I know as i am only 19 i can only ride a max of 125cc but have no idea what type to buy. I was also wondering if there was any way after i have passed my test if i could do anything to be able to ride above 12cc.
