Default Why did i wait so long!

Well about a month ago i bought my first mig welder, a Lincoln 180 amp. I've always been a stick man and resisted the urge to go mig. It's big enough for what i do, mostly welding box or angle, but i will have a go at the alloys now Vertical ups and downs are a dream with this baby, once i worked out how to drive it So i've decided to make a different type of bike stand to show you, which i would doubt very much you have seen before, and will save you some hard earned cash in return for a couple of hours labour. Stay tuned photos coming of the stand soon

I did pretty much the same thing, stick welding forever because I doubted myself with a mig. Finally I was talked into trying a mig, and there has been no going back. The only time I use my stick welder now is in breezy outdoor conditions.

You have yourself a great welder there. I've seen those things go for years and years under constant use. Ok enough...... Lets see the pics!

Awesome that is a nice little welding machine.
I bought a nice alluminum stand from princess auto for 40$ and it is very light. I guess what I am trying to say is that sometimes it is not worth making your own tools ( I love making my own stuff ). Say if you make 20 bucks ah hour, it's 2 hours of your day and you have a stand. But you could spend 4 hours making one and it won't be as nice. But definetly I want to see what you came up with )))

Nice welder. My grandpa does most of the welding on our farm and he only goes back to the stick if the mig breaks down, like it did a couple of months ago. If the mig works thats all that he uses.

I have the 170-T (130) amp. It's a cracker. Normally just run a flux core wire through it for all the light stuff I do at home, like that ramp I just built. Have got a bottle of blue shield and a straight argon for the jobs that I feel needs it.
No do yourself another treat and get an Auto Tint Helmet. Then you'll be set for life with WAYYYY less neck problems
