The junkyard dog Jonh Dowd- shows up to a national a 21 year old nobody and shows the factory boys how its done, fast forward to 2005 and gets a 3rd place overall at southwick just shy of his 40th birthday.

Danny Chandler, to me, was the craziest and probably the most fun to watch. I can't think of anyone since Magoo who rides like that. David Bailey for technical riding, and Bob Hannah because it was so much fun to watch him tear up Unadilla and Carlsbad. I seem to remember Magoo being the first to twist his bike sideways over a jump....is it me or does anyone else remember that?

I always liked Jeff Stanton and Ricky Johnson.

Damon Bradshaw's an ***.

I would say that Ricky Johnson would probably be my favorite "Main Stream" MX and SX rider. But I really appreciated what Jimmy Button was able to do during his career. I remember watching him ride a Canyon Raceway in AZ when he was on an 80cc. I was at a race there and watched him start BEHIND the 125 pro class and pick them all off one by one. He was amazing back then. He made it all the way up to riding for Team Yamaha and the #10 plate before he was injured.

You left out coming into the Endurocross and beating Ryan Hughes and David Knight! Unreal!
Anyway Decoaster, Ricky Johnson, Hurricane Hannah all seem to be SOB's.

John Dowd is a true American Hero. He's the Randy Couture of MX. Or Randy Couture is the John Dowd of MMA, either way.

He was the real privateer and the nicest guy around!
In 1999, a terrible accident made an end to his motorcycle career.
He still lives near Saugus (Valencia) and I have a regular contact with him.
If someone wants to know more about him, please let me know.
Thanks for the space.
Hello oldschool. My name is Jean Louis LE GUILLOIS. I live in France. I met Mike Brown in 1983 at Audrieu (france).
I followed him as an improvised mechanic at several international races and GPs in europe.
I didnt hear about Mike since 1985 and i see you on ATM saying that he had got a terrible accident in 1999.
If you are still in contact with him, would you please tell him that we dont forget him, and say hello?
See on ATM how to contact me, it seems i cant join my e mail with this message (forum rules?). Thanks a lot. JLLG.

Mike Brown has is still kicking butt over here in the STates. He recently won the Xgames Enduro X Gold and has been a consistent top 20 finisher the last few rounds of the Outdoor National series. The guy still rips!!!

Does anyone remember back in the 90's... Ty Davis and Mike Young? Both of them helped raise me on my little tiny 50cc ATK when I was 4 years old.

"Zip" Ty Davis used to come race Hurricane Hills quite a bit when I was growing up, Barry Carsten and him used to battle like crazy. Carsten always got the better of him on the 125! Man I miss those days...

Bob Hannah was my favorite and I pulled for Billy Liles only because I was friends with him in high school. Does anybody know where he is anymore? (Billy I mean) I lost track of him after he went to race overseas.
