Default Who has a real comfy helmet?

I'd like to know what brands/models of helmets are comfortable beyond the showroom. I'm looking for a helmet in the $150-$250 range and would like to know if anyone with newer helmets can help me out. Sometimes helmets feel good when I try them on.. but I want to make sure it's going to feel good down the road..err track . Weight, ergos, and material quality are important too. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey man good question I have two one 230.00 agv ax7 and i have a cheap 100.00 or less afx both are light and very comfortable. I suggest getting the removable lining both of mine have vents on top for air on the hot days and they close for the winter. I bought the agv in large and its snugg but the afx is medium and is really more comfortable because of the way it hugs my face. As far as that im happy with both brands i also had a G-Maxx which is around a 130.00 helmet and it fit great but didnt have the removable liner. Just up to you and getting the right fit as far as size wise. Good luck. the afx is in my photo gallery its blue I dont have a pic on here of the agv but you can go to the link.

I would recommend checking out the M2R range of helmets, particularly the Revelation X2 helmet. The 2004 model is on sale now and is well worth the money!

I have some pretty decent pads in my Thor. They can pop out if you need to clean them and its a real comfortable helmet. I like it more than my old HJC. Not to mention it looks pretty cool. I think you can get one for around your price range also.

Thanks for the tips guys. As I'm waiting to get back into motocross, I just think that the ol' Bell moto4 needs to go haha. In fact, all of my gear is from the early 90's. It probably hasn't moved since like 1994. Time to upgrade I'd say.

I definitely want one thats got the removable liner and cheek pads. I'm looking for a balance between price, comfort, and graphics. But I guess that's what most people do. Time to go try a bunch out I guess..

I have a Troy Lee Designs/Shoei helmet and i LOVE it.

It was ~$250 on eBay brand new but was well worth it.

I have a HJC static X2 I bought it last year and it really was pretty comfy and light. It was around $200. My bike blew over on top of it at the track and cracked it so I am currently looking at new helmets I might just buy another one, but we'll see, I guess I would like to change it up. I will be interested in any more coments on the subject.

I have rode with HJCs and still do. I find them very comfortable. I just got a new one a few weeks back. I have a AC-X2 Shifter. Very light and comfortable.

Yes, the removable interior is a must but also think about durability.
Maybe we can narrow your search down a little. I don't know how hard you ride but you are bound to crash now and then if you push it like most of us do. Durability is one of my main goals when searching for a helmet. Look for a flexible visor as opposed to a more rigid one. My '04 Oneal Venom has withstood some pretty decent impacts directly on the visor which has yet to break. It bends and flexes to the point of leaving marks on the helmet underneath. It was about $160 on sale.
Everyone, post up about how your visor has held up after crashes. Of course, it goes without saying that after a very major impact, it's just time to buy a new helmet. But replacing a visor after each minor crash can get to be a nuisance. I've done that before.
