so if i cant get the specs for my float level, is there a way to just do it by the look of the eye?

Most of the time you can set it so the line on the side of the float is parallel to the gasket surface. Like I stated before, take note of the current setting before you change it. If you can show a picture of the carb someone may be able to identify it.
