you are talking about the needle looking applicators right? that's exactly what I had before and it was a slow process, but it worked well.

Default Chain lube

I pressure wash the chain, apply wd40 immediately to disperse/displace water and apply chain lube before ride/race using the small plastic tube laid directly on top of chain for one revolution on the outside link/plate junction and one revolution inside as I spin rear tire. I am renowned as one of the top chain lubricators in our district .
