You kicked and kicked, turned the gas off, comp release, blew her out and hopefully with no kick back you lit her up. And all Daniel could do, expecting you to give up long before, was say go for it.
Please tell us the story.
I doubt many others want to hear it Val.

But yes, the deal was "If you can start it, you can ride it." Daniel fully expected me to be able to start it and I eventually did, but not before I was left with a very nice imprint on the back of my calf that looked an awful lot like the kickstarter...

And one of these days I'll figure out this whole left-sided-big-bore-two-stroke kick thingy too...

I would have bet (and lost) a paycheck by saying it was something from the 50's!!

first time i ever rode a bike was when i was 10. i was on the back of my uncles XR650R. the first thing he did was take me up a mountain in southern california.

after that i got an RT100 yamaha.i still own and appreciate that little bike for taking me anywhere and everywhere i ever wanted to go, even though 80 percent of the time i was tresspassing...

that little bike only left me stranded once. but only because i ran it out of gas and had to push it for a mile and a half.

A 1972 Honda SL 125K1 "turtle chaser", man I had fun on that little scoot. Made me really appreciate my 73 OSSA 250 Stilletto MX when I got my forst MX bike in December 1972.

Default 1972 z50

My dad bought me a used 1972 honda z50 in the summer of 1976. It was the first bike I ever rode and did I ever ride it. I don't think the motor ever had time to cool off during the rest of 76 and into 77. I got a brand new xr75 for xmas 1977. Still have it today.

it seems like those little rt100s were all over the place. the suspension on my RT really made me appreciate what i had on my cr250, even though it was almost 20 years old

If you disclude a lawn mower style pull start mini-bike, the first was a classic 1978 Honda XR75

I got to work the steering and the throttle long before I could touch the ground on all of my Dad's rides. This is me on the front of his 50- something 600 Matchless in 1962. Papeete Street, Wilmington, Ca.

It would be 8 years before I got my own- A 1961 Ducati 125 Bronco. I have a pic of that one somewhere.

My big brother bought me a Honda Trail 70 with the real fat seat, ape hanger bars, and sweet baby blue paint. I loved that stupid thing until my uncle rode it, flipped it over in a big mudhole, and seized the motor. I still remind him about it and that was 27 years ago!
