Young lady, let me make a suggestion.......

Stop by the Barber Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham Alabama.
I went there 2 months ago and it was the most fun 5 hours of my trip.
They have every motorcycle I know about and a bunch I have never seen before (700-800). It's flat unbelievable, trust me. Honest injun.

Besides it's run by an old ex Dist 37 desert racer.

Niffer,
It is a bit out of the way for a direct route for I-10/1-65 but you and you family are always welcome welcome at our home in Pensacola. Have a great trip.

Hey great idea!!! I knew some peeps would help me plan the other half of the trip. We should have 2 days driving home from Ga where I am open for suggestions!

That web site looks awesome, My Boys would freak out over a place like that!

Hey bill does 29 come off of 65 south? ( I think it does)If so maybe we could meet up at a restaurant for food or coffee??

It would all depend if we are ahead or behind schedule on the way home. Thanks for the welcome!

No 29 does not work. We take 29 north to Flomaton then up to 65. If you get near by please let us know though. You and the family will always be welcome here, as are all ATM people. We have hosted 3 members traveling and it was neat to meet them in person.

LOL, there is room in the camper, but no seat belts

You may come back with more broken bones than you left with. That would be too funny, riding in the camper

I'll just tie myself in the bed with some straps and I bet I could sleep the whole way there.

They have a bunch of Harleys including the old road racers.
Also there is a race track there on the grounds that runs road races (cars and bikes) and it's rented to Porsche 6 months out of the year for testing. The place (grounds) are beautiful.
It's going to knock your socks off.

Just seeing that Vincent Black Shadow is enough to entice me without knowing about Barber's reputation. Niffer, make the side trip if the better half will allow it. It is worth it.

Did you guys stay at durhamtown or what, you brought all the bikes?

How much time did you spend there?

Took off for 12 days and hit several tracks in GA. Rode Durhamtown for 2 days towards the end of the trip but wished we had done it more. We hotelled it. Lots of trails, from single track to wide open 10 footers and several tracks of varying difficulty. They try to have something for everyone.
Eckols' place in Carolina sounds very much like it. I would def visit it again but rent a cottage this time so we could be on the property.
