Hey Jeff, this is Matt Kiker. I sent you a check for the 2002 Video a while back if you remember me. We talked through emails some and I was asking you what class I should start racing in with my XR250R(me moved up to a 96 CR250R now

JMorris thats what I tried telling him on AOL INstant Messanger and he just said it looked very easy..I have not raced yet but want to race in the NCHSA very bad when I get my CR back together. I have however been to 2 of the races and watched and I can tell you now just by watching these guys you can tell it is NOT EASY!! Last November I went to Gold Hill and watched the "Gold Rush" race..OMG!!!! I have never in my life seen ruts that deep and have never seen anyone ride a dirt bike in that much mud. Then at the beggining of this year I went and watched Round 1 at "Daniels Ridge".That was an awesome track and it was dry. So Mikey(honda rider)get this through your stubborn head...HARE SCRAMBLES "ARE NOT" EASY!! Matt

Oh and Ren I think you would do good at a Hare Scramble race. I have friend that is racing in the Open-B class this year in the NCHSA and he rides a KTM 300EX/C. He is VERY FAST in the woods but when it comes to the MX sections he has to roll them so alot of times he gets passed by the guys in his class that are jumping the stuff. I know on 1 track this year the finish line was right after a MX section, you came out of the woods and into the MX track heading towards the finish line,my friend was leading but 2nd place came up and jumped a double that my friend rolled and one the race by 2 seconds. If you are good in the woods which I don't know how much woods expierence you have but you will have a good advantage on some guys on the MX part since you can jump all the stuff. Matt

I agree with Matt. You will do fine in the woods Ren, if you race MX on a consistant basis I bet you place in the top 10 or so your first time out. Woods riding is alot of fun, there is alot more to it then I ever thought there would be.

Great videos! I just got back from my first harescramble race and I thought it was going to be easy. It isn't. Its no stop weaving through the trees and blasting through creeks. I raced for 40mins. I'm a motocross racer and thought that the harescramble would be a walk in the park. Harescrambles are 10 times harder!!! I luv em though. Just never go into a harescramble race without BARKBUSTERS!!!

I never said it was easy, I didn't mean to imply that at all. The only thing I have ever done is a 20 mile loop enduro race and it was incredibly demanding there is no question about that. What I ment was you learn alot in MX that carries over into the woods. Not that it was easy.
