Default Transmission Oil

ok i needed some transmission oil for my KX and the only shop that was open was a petrol station so i bought a litre of this oil. Its Valvoline(a well knowen australian oil company) engine oil with the exact same visocity and statistics as the oil reccomended in the service manual. but cuz it doesnt say 2 stroke engine oil on the bottle im wondering if it will work?
any ideas?:

What type of oil is the valvoline?

It will do no permanant damage to your motor, you can run it, however some have friction modifiers that will make the clutch slip.

I run ATF in my bike. Cheap and works well.

Valvoline is well known here as well. In fact if not for Mobil 1 that is my prefrence.

I have heard good things about the ATF fluid, I never tried it in my 2 stroke, but if I still owned one I would give it a shot.

Running it will be fine as long as it doesnt have any friction modifiers in the oil. Look in your owners manual, it will give you what type of oils you can and can't use.

their should be a circle on the bottle (at least the oil here does) that will say Friction Modifiers if it doesn't say it, then you are fine.
