Default Which tire?

I need to replace my back tire soon and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for me. I have an RMZ250 and I ride mostly track. Usually Mesquite MX which has nice thick dirt.

Thanks.

I would recommend the Maxxis IT. It is a long wearing, good hook up tire and much less expensive that the Dunlops or Bridgestones.

I'll second that. We use it on our bikes and is great. Maybe also look at the Kenda Millville.

So what are the differences between the tires suggested. Is it just personal preference???

I really can't comment on anything except the M-12, for the kind of dirt that I think you ride on at mesquite, it looks like it would be a good choice. The only place this tire doesn't work real well is on hardpack, it just doesn't hook up there. But anywhere else it hooks up and wears like iron, I would think with the amount of riding that you do it would last 1 to 2 years Ima.

Hope that helped.

Ima:

Dunlop 756 & the Michelin S-12 are good sof terrian tires, Think splendora

Donlop 739 ,Michelin M12 & the Maxxis It are intermediate tires. these type's of tires will work for most of the track you ride on, & will last for you!

Check out

www.Rockymountainmc.com & look under tires, they seem to have the best prices on the web right now.

Maxxis Maxxcross IT or S-12

Both great tires. I think the Maxxis costs a little less. Bates runs the maxxis, I currently run the S-12.

These are the only two tires I've run and the 756 truly is a great tire but it wears out much sooner than the S12. I'm sure many of the other suggestions are great tires as well. The S12 is my current choice due to longevity. We ride pretty hard and try to stay away from hard pack.

I like the Maxxis IT for the price and durability. I went for 30 rides (2-3 months) in the desert (soft, silty terrain) before i changed it out. I tried dunlop 756 and found myself chunking off the knobies. good luck hope it helps

Actually, the millville would probably be pretty good since your on a 250F and wouldn't probably have chunking problems like I did on my 450. It was a great tire before it chunked.
