| Just wanted to share my experience between these two boots. I have had Thor T-30 mx boots for a while. They never were very comfortable, mostly because I should have bought a size 10 US instead of a 9. My feet are wide. My feet really hurt after a few minutes. The knife edges of my feet were jammed up against the side of the boot and the top of my foot felt stuffed too. I read somewhere that Thors run 1/2 size small. They did not tell me that when I ordered, and I did ask! I would have bought local, but the moto-shops here don't carry much stock. Whatever. I had this same issue with ski-boots. If your feet are not comfortable, you can't last as long during the day. I don't think I will ever skimp on footwear again. I got my Alpinestars Tech 3's from Rocky Mountain today. Wow, I really like the boot much better than the Thor. The buckles work with less headache. They feel wonderful. I did buy size 10 this time. But wow, I really like the feel, fit, and finish of this boot better than the Thors. I don't think the Thors are a "bad" entry level boot. I just like the Tech 3 better. The sole has more cushion, and they feel softer inside. I can only imagine how nice the top of the line A-star's feel! I think if I get more expensive boots I would get Sidi's or higher grade alpinestars. I am really happy now! And my feet are happy feet too! Anyone wanna ride? | Excellent! Glad to see you're riding again I had the same sentiments when I went from Flys to my A-Stars. Gonna make the GMB this year? |

| Awesome man uncomfortable feet are one of the worst distractions you can have. Last night I tried on some thor quadrant boots, then the alpinestar tech 3, then tech 7,8, and tech 10, you could feel such a huge difference in ankle support just from the thor's to the tech 3's, and an even greater difference up through to the tech 10. Ankle support and boots have come such a long way from the first models. |
