Default Terrible News! Rider Down!

A good friend of mine, Jeremy Speldrick, 21 years, 6 months, and 19 days old, died in a car accident on Thanksgiving. He hit a 4" tree going down some windy roads, he rolled the car, and the roof of the car hit him on the head, as the roof continued to collapse, it went all the way down to the gas/brake peddle. It killed him instantly. He had 2 other friends in there, both of them had to go to Urgent Care, but they will be alright over time. Jeremy was a local A rider that loved to ride. He's been riding all of his life. We use to go out on our practice track every Tuesday and Thursday and play cat and mouse. He was very fun to ride with...

I just got back from the wake tonight, he was not cremated and I had to go say my last good bye's... and that was the hardest things I have ever done. To just see him lay there... not breathing, no expression on his face and his eyes closed... I just still can't believe it... I was crying the whole way home, and I do not know how I will be able to make it through school tomorrow...

Believe me, I have plenty of memories that will never be taken from me, ever!

Here is a picture of him, before he died. He loved racing, even more than I do. He was very quiet at first, nobody ever knew what he was thinking, and whenever anybody would talk to him, he would never have anything bad to say back. He was also engaged to a girlfriend that they've been dating since the age of 16. I heard that he just broke up with her before the crash, I do not know how long before that was, but I can't even imagine how his fiance was feeling...

Anyway, here is a picture of him:

Good Speed Buddy!!

Keep riding, and roosting in the Heavens!

Its a very hard thing to deal with. I know I got in on this late but I lost my older brother about 3 months ago. I send you my prayers. Try to remeber the good times and never let go of them. If there is anything I can help you with just let me know

I can relate man, my best friend from highschool died about a month ago in the car i helped him build, and im stuck in college so i didnt even get to attend the funeral. About the only thing that kept me from losin it was the fact that he died doin what he loved to do, in the car we both poured every bit of knowledge we had into. Its hard now, but it gets better. The wost part was that they blamed the accident on him cause he was young, not the lady that ran the redlight causing him to tbone her

hang in there man

Jake,
I am sorry about your friend, Jeremy Speldrick. I know how you feel. I have taken the liberty to add Jeremy's name to the "Remembering Those Who Rode" list which may be viewed in the Memorial Forum. His name will be read every year during the Garrett Berg Remembering Those Who Rode Memorial race - the first weekend in October.

Hang in there young man and let me know via: PM if I may be of any assistance in helping the Speldrick family.

In Sympathy,

Mike Berg
