Surgery date for my fusions

To all,
I saw the neurosurgeon yesterday and he agreed that both disc will have to be removed (L4-L5 and L5-S1.) The surgery will be here in Pensacola at Baptist Hospital on 22 January 2004. I am downed pretty much until then. He did prescribe some stronger pain medicatioin, with Phynergen for the nausea that has been beating me up pretty bad. I am ready for this to be over. The holidays on your back and pretty much imoble bites.

Tahnks to all of you for the prayers adn kindness y'all have snown me and my family. Everyone have a blessed Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Regards,
Bill Barnard

Hi Bill,
Good luck with your surgery. I had horrible back problems years ago and was told by my surgeon that I needed a spinal fusion also. The pain was unbearable. I don't know how many of you out there have had severe back pain, but it is the most debilitating experience you can have. I really feel for you. I prayed hard for an alternative to the fusion and a good friend of mine dropped by and turned me on to a form of postural therapy called Egoscue. He told me if I did this that my back would not hurt anymore. Well the first routine that I did cut my pain in half and from that point on I never looked back. As I'm getting older, I'm 42 right now, my body feels more pain free than it ever has. Egoscue does take a lot of commitment because you have to do the exercises daily. But man is it powerful I actually introduced this program into the landscaping department at Sea World where I work. It started in 2001 where they were averaging 40 injuries per 100 employees with mostly back strains. In 2002 the number went down to 13/100. For 2003 it is down to just 1/100!!!!!!!!!! Each landscaper is required to start their shift with an Egoscue workout. You might want to look at an alternative to the surgery, because once it's done, it's final and there is no guarantee on the outcome. I feel like Egoscue gives me a personal body tool box. It fixes all my joint pain without fail. Egoscue has a website if you want to check it out at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Good Luck and Best Wishes.
