He is not on the Motosport Outlet Team and I did not see him racing at Anaheim last week. I got the info from a friend who works for one of the Motosport Race Team sponsors. Story is that Steve will race Hangtown to keep his #6 plate.

I hate to say it but its about time. Unless Im mistaken, he hasnt posted consistant podiums in many years. Hopefully his school is or will do well for him cause he is a great rider, just a little past his prime to compete with the current field unfortunately...

Found this on the AHRMA Southwest board.....
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
MX & DT pre-entry deadline: Jan. 21. CC and trial are post-entry only.

This event always sneaks up on us, with the off-road season opener coming so close on the heels of the last events of the old year. But truth be told, the 10th edition of Dave Boydstun's Duel in the Desert has grown into a such a spectacular weekend that any AHRMA competitor with dirt in his tire treads should be looking forward to it months and months in advance.

Duel #10 features not only vintage and post-vintage motocross and trials, but this year a pair of dirt track events and cross country also have been added to the menu. Dave tells us this is the first time in AHRMA's history that one promoter has hosted all the aspects of off-road competition at one site with one weekend gate fee covering the whole shebang. We have no reason to doubt his claim.

The best way to fill you in on the details is just to take a day-by-day walk through the schedule, beginning with Thursday, Feb. 2, and the opportunity to hone your MX skills. Jim Pomeroy will offer a motocross school for riders of old motorcycles, while 1995-96 AMA 125 national MX champ Steve Lamson will teach a school for racers on modern machines. Both classes are limited to 10 students. Rumor has it that Lamson also will be racing over the weekend.
