Default Steering Stem

I'm replacing the triple clamps on my 04' CRF450 and want to make sure I press the stem the right way. I assume that it has to press out the bottom???

First you press the bottom out until you can take off this circlip dealie, then it should come right out of the top i think

So down first, then up throught the top (that's how it is on my XR anyway). Don't try it until you know for sure. That's how my stem got F$*%ed up at a place replacing my steering stem bearings! (stripped the threads and blamed me for the wrong bearings when the printed numbers on the bearings were exactly the same!) lol

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking also. But it's always good to pose the question on ATM before I do anything cause I've got alot of good feed-back and found out a trick or two.
Thanks for the feed-back!!

FYI
Applied Racing emailed me back with links to their stem removal & installation page and it does press out the bottom as my arrow indicates.

Now, if I just would have looked on their site thoroughly first I wouldn't feel like such a idiot now..........................doh!!!! :

You would have looked like an idiot if you posted an ad in the classifieds looking for a bottom T-clamp...cause you didn't bother to research you question. The only dumb question is the one you didnt ask! There are plenty of dumb answers out there, but no dumb questions. TW

When I saw the links that Applied sent me I kindof felt a little silly for not looking on their page for it first. BUT, I'll take feeling a little silly over being an idiot and costing my self more money any day!

FYI, I did see someone selling a full set of stock T-clamps on ebay for a CRF450......................if anybody is interested.
