78 f250...did they even make short bed's on that? Nice 8 foot bed..It really depends on the truck though. I love the look of my uncles f350 with the shortbed on it. I hate small trucks with 8 foot beds though...

Back then, you could only get the 1/2 tons in a short bed. I do agree the long beds on the 1/2 tons do look a little funny.

My dad has a 1995 F-150 Straight six with the 8 foot bed and I think it looks fine. It s going to be mine when I turn sixteen and I might raise it. its a clutch and hauls alot of stuff pretty easily.

Chevy 2500HD, 4x4, crew cab, long bed...and yes it is a handful in parking lots and tight city driving. When pulling the 5th wheel or full of bikes and gear, it is a dream machine.

I do have to say that Joe Yuppie does NOT pull his shiny beemer into traffic or short me on a lane change in front of it!!

You won't get all of this in a short bed.

My ultimate truck would be a new Toyota Tacoma, 4x4, extended cab (without 4 doors though) and a short box with the v6. Can easily fit two bikes, gear and a cooler in the back plus the backseat has all the extra room you'll need for anything else. A truck like this is easy to drive around plus gets decent mileage.
i have this exact truck your describing. for one i have gotten 4 bikes in it, 1 125, 1 250f and 1 250 and a 50 on the tailgate sideways. plus everything like gear gas, etc. its a good little truck but i personally hate it, my dad got it for me to drive cause i could tow a bike, get to school and have good gas mileage. but im getting a 99-02 silverado extra cab, short bed(only way to go IMO!) with a 5.3 v8!!! lifted of course 7 inches in the front and 5 in the rear!!!.
