Default Replacing fork seals?

Hey,Before to long I am gonna replace the fork seals in my CR250R. I have done the seals on my XR250R before but the forks are conventinals(sp)and way different although I got away from using any of the SPECIAL TOOLS that my manual listed...I was wondering if I can rebuild the forks on my CR and but new bushings and seals in without any special tools? I will however buy a seal driver after i heard what happened to Shiftings CRF by using PVC pipe..I used PVC pipe on my XR but the driver would be better. Anyone know? If I have to buy alot of expensive tools I am just gonna take it to Andrews Motorsports and have them put the seals in because I will end up paying LESS money.

I don't know much about it ( I got a suspension guy in my area) but for getting the seal in place it works easy if you put the new seal on the tube and your old seal after it. Then with a screwdriver or something you can put pressure on the old seal and so this will put pressure on the new seal which will fit in his place. After this you cut the old seal and remove it from the tube. I hope you understand my explanation, otherwise just ask it again and I will try to explain it different, no problem, let me know!!

You need a fork seal driver and you need a fork cap wrench. I know there are guys out there that can do this without any special tools but eventually something will happen just like my bike... if you don't want to buy the tools, just have a shop that you trust do it. You also want to have access to a good torque wrench when putting the forks back on. Either way it will cost you money, buy the tools, have someone else fix them, or buy the parts you destroy trying to use screwdrivers and pipe wrench's. Just my .02
