To Our Dear A.T.M. Family,

Some of you know already but and now is the time (because Karen allowed me) to let all if you know that she has battled, and is winning the fight, against breast cancer. Before you read any further let me assure you that Karen is "Very Healthy" and from all the reports & Doctors, the cancer is GONE. Where she is at now is recovery. The 33 radiation treatments that were given to her over a 6 1/2 week period did take a toll on Karen's strength but she is rebounding from that quite well. The grit and determination coming from her is impressive to say the least. I am truly blessed to have her as my wife.

More to the point of this thread/post:
One of our daughter's (Mandy Jansen) is heading up a fund raiser here in Albany Oregon for "Relay For Life" which is dirven by the American Cancer Society. I'm going to copy and paste the e-mail that Mandy is sending out with all the information on where to send donations for this event.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this information.

From, Mandy Jansen

Dear Family Member,

As many of you may know my mom, Karen Koehler, was diagnosed with breast cancer this last year. So, this year in support of my mom, my family and I are joining the American Cancer Socety's "Relay for Life". Joe, Jordan, Luke and I will be walking in this year's relay along with some of our extended family. The "Relay for Life" is an overnight event that will take place at Linn Benton Community College on June 23rd and 24th. During this event survivors are honored during the Survivors Lap and we remember those we've lost to cancer during the Luminaria Ceremony. Would you please consider making a donation to this worthy cause?

I want to invite you to show your support in the ongoing fight against cancer by joining us for this year’s event. Please click on the link below for more information, including details on the inspirational Survivors’ Lap and the moving Luminaria Ceremony. We hope to see you there! If you can’t join us, will you please visit the site and make a donation to support our efforts? Either way, you will make a real difference in the lives of people facing cancer – and in the lives of the people who love them. Thank you!

Thanks for posting this up Big Bro. I'm very glad to hear Karen is recovering well, the woman is strong, no doubt.

My Grandmother is a breast cancer survivor, so this is sort of a personal cause. You can count on support from me.

Boyd, I wish I could help out with this, but I have been off work for several weeks due to back injury. I hope you guys can bring in a bunch of donations for this. My mother and a good friend of mine had breast cancer also. This stuff is almost like a plague, seems every woman has it. I am glad that she is doing so great Very cool what your daughter is doing! More younger kids should take part in these things

Karen is indeed a strong woman. You are a lucky man indeed, Boyd.

I do the walk to raise money for the cure for breast cancer (as well as all cancers) every year and the people there are just amazing. I lost a family member due to this disease so it is personal to me.

God Bless!
