Default Race or Practice?

Hey guys, This weekend coming up is the season opener at one of my local motocross tracks. I really want to race but I'm kind of tenative because I have never been to the track before and I havent rode since thanksgiving, and I haven't pushed at a race pace since july 4 the day I broke my leg. My other option would be to go to my favorite practice track for opening day. I really want to race but I don't think I would be the best idea right now.

What do you guys think. What would you tell your kids to do if they were in my situation.?

You should race.

I think once you got out there you would have alot of fun racing. Well, atleast it seems like it would be fun.

you answered yourself

just be sure to take someone with you and make it a worthwhile practice, by having them take lap times down, video tape, take pictures, or at the very least, stand on the sideline and yell SPEED UP!! every time you pass them.

seriously though, if you really want to get back to "race pace" then take someone with you and have them coach you. i can't stress enough the importance of Recording and reviewing laptimes, video tape, and the practice of actually "riding hard" for more than 3 laps will definitely help you more than lolligagging around the track

Thats what I was thinking of doing. Im bringing my brother to film and encourage me. I would hate to go to the race and push to hard and end up hurting myself again.

I try to never lolligag around the track because I know thats not going to help me at all.
And Im not gonna let anyone around me without puttin up a fight thats for sure.
