Question Question about 50cc class

Ok this dosent pertain to the 50cc pitbike classes but the 50 cc class for the little kids racing. I figured who better to ask then all of you. The way I currently have the classes set up for our little kids who ride 50cc is this
50 cc beginner, 50 cc 4-6 years, 50cc 7-9, and 50cc open up to age 9. The problem I have is We have several in these classes but we have about 4 or 5 little kids that ride the beginner class, who have never raced until this series and ride polini's and other really fast bikes and then I have some kids who ride pw 50's and so on..The kids on the polini's are just blasting the other kids almost to the point where they are lapping them becuase their bikes have so much more power and they are just natural riders. They are just fast. So it leaves the other true beginners getting lapped and have no chance at all against the faster bikes. How would ya'll suggest I split it up where they dont run against each other but still dont have 8 50cc classes? I know running with faster kids will only make you better in the long run and give you more experience but I also dont want to slower kids to give up and say forget it becuase they will never have a chance against them. What do you suggest I do to split the classes up for the little ones so that it is fair and still can fill the classes?

Thanks
Pamela

First Id like to commend you on actually caring enough to ask about improving your series. This is a great way to get a feel as to how the parents see things, which can only help in what youre trying to accomplish.
Around here we have an "oiler" class for the PWs and the 2 stroke KTMs, Polinis, Cobras run separately. Im of the opinion that true beginners with "beginner" bikes shouldnt run against the "racing" bikes. Not only because the kids might get discouraged but for safety issues, as well.

So how would I put it..would it be
50cc oiler-beginner
50cc ??-beginner
then run the age groups? 50cc 4-6, 50cc 7-9 and open

I think I am following you dont know how to word it so that the parents understand when they sign up thier kids and how to put it on the flyer. Sorry I am confussed.

Yea, something like that.

50cc beginner oiler
50cc beginner non oiler
50cc experienced 4-6...combining all bikes
50cc experienced 7-9 open

At the 50cc level the top class will consist of 7-9 yr olds...10 yr olds would have moved up to 65s so you can just call the 50cc experienced 7-9 the open class. Exceptions could be made for the 7-9 yr old newbies by putting them in the 4-6 experienced class but if they show riding abilities beyond a beginner they automatically get placed into the open class. In the rare exception where the little guy on the oiler is really fast and mom and dad cant afford the 2 strokes, move him up to the non oiler class.

No problem, hopefully that made sense, LOL. Im sure others will come along with even better ideas. The thing to remember is that you wont be able to account for every possible situation. All you can do is try to keep everyone as safe as possible. Mixing really fast riders with really slow riders is dangerous to both.
