Talking Pics from Nocona MX 10-26-03

TexasDirtNap headed out with me to Nocona today. Kirtwell, Madman and Keetoman...you guys gotta go next time. This was my first time to visit Nocona MX and all I can says is "This is my favorite track!". You guys never told me how much fun it is. The dirt was "tacky" and soft but not muddy. You can lay the bike over and rail the corners and the tires stick lick glue! TexasDirtNap and I had a blast and I will let you in on a little secret...he will be dreaming of the long double in the middle of the track...he was nailing it in 4th wide open! I came up short 3 times before hitting it and man it is sweet (the 3 times I came up short hurt like no other though!!!). I also posted pics of my son Kyle riding on the mini track. He had a blast even though he laid it down twice and got a flat at the end of the day. That just shows he was gettin wit it!! LOL

Our official camera man (my big bro "SkinnyJM") was under the weather today...we missed ya. My wife took the photos and did a good job but our digital camera has about run it's course. Anyway hope you guys enjoy the pics.

Bring back some fun memories! I will post a pic of the double and berm they took out there that I broke my back on. It was a thrid gear pinned double and then you had to be on the brakes hard for a 90 deg. high banked right hand turn. I didn't make the turn and the backside was straight down... not pretty!

Satch, Kirtwell said they took that out because they had several people getting hurt on it. i'll show you where it was when I go out with you guys.

Yardpro, it is about 5 hours from Houston so you would have to stop by my place first

We definately had a great time. Everything was perfect. The temp was 63 degrees, sunny, small breeze, perfect dirt and not too crowded. Cant ask for more.

I had a choice: help tyler with a top end job or go to the track and ride. Guess I went for the thrill not that it wouldn't have been a gas to help tyler

Satch and I were both banging that back double when we decided to swing around and do it until we got it right. Man, theres nothing like clearing a double and avoiding the face on the second jump. It was beatin us to death.

Making that jump was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!!

Satch that track looks great. Love those berms. The whoop/rythums look like they need to be built back up a bit. I bet you can blast through those.

Keeto,

Man that is no fun going over the berm. I had a simular experiance a while back but got the bike slowed down enough that I didn't get hurt. It amazing how steep the back sides are when you go over.

It sure is! The pic of the berm cut off the highest point, which I chose to do a forward flip off of. I've learned not to do that anymore... I roll the jumps now!

Ranger...hush yo mouth! Don't give them any ideas!! Those whoops are plenty big coming out of the corner and it transitions to a rhythm section. One of the fastest riders out there yesterday went down in them so they are plenty challenging.

Kirtwell is right about Nocona. The dirt is great and the jumps are forgiving. Motoman and Yardpro you guys would LOVE this track. I can see it now. Motoman vs. Kirtwell all over again!!!!!!
