Default OT: The Nobel Peace Prize

I have a whole lot of thoughts on this but I'll simply say.....

.....I thought I would never say it - but I can't respect the Nobel Peace Prize anymore - nor the nominating committee.

I was reminded on another site today that the Nobel lost all credibility when Al Gore won it... I had wiped that from my memory banks.
It is truly sad what the world is coming to IMO...

Correction, it goes farther back than that. If you recall, the PLO's-a known terrorist group, Yasser Arafat won it. Its a farce.

Well obviously appologizing for america over and over and siding with terrorist regimes and communist regimes is what will truly bring about peace. If only those idiots thought of that during WWII so much could have been prevented by just surrendering.

Look at the bright side guys, this guy has guarenteed the Dems loss of power for the next 30 years, in a way it was needed so the "anyone but Bush crowd could see just how bad it could get

Totally agree..as painful as it is-it was a much needed eye openr and a warning to those in office.

I realize that over the years there have been some questionable awards of the prize. I'm not really sure why but I was cautiously optimistic for this award...boy, was I wrong. I think noobish is on the money there!! I just hope people will stop the craziness at the poll for the 2010 elections.

I don't "have a problem" with it, but at best it was very premature as he has accomplished nothing as of yet and at worst it pretty much put the nail in the coffin as far as credibility with the Nobel organization. There are so many others more deserving of this award then Obama that it should have gone to.

E,

Everyone knows Macho is just stirring the pot right now.

He will tell you OJ was innocent just to get things rolling

But as far as my two cents on the issue:

Really, what has the latest recipient done to earn the peace prize? He hasn’t been in on the job long enough to even effect world peace. Others have been working their entire lives at grass root efforts to make this a better place to live.

Noob said this before I could send>

Yes dad.

I think the thing that amazes me the most is the fact that the award was issued on promises he made that had yet to happen. He was only in office a couple weeks when he was nominated for this award. I'm afraid the folks from the other countries have drank the koolaid too.

I read the claim is he was awarded it for less emphasis on defense. But i think they were just gonna hand it to anyone not named GW Bush

Agreed Jim.

And I tried my best (with my one vote) to keep SOMEONE from the white house. And now look what happened.

To steel a term my grand-son uses... AWW SNAP!
