Default New riding gear....

I took a break from dirt riding for about 5 years, all my old gear is gone and I bought new MSR gear. Doesn't anybody make jerseys anymore out of cotton or some material that doesn't feel like silk??? All the new jerseys have no cuffs to speak of, feel like they are thin as wet tissue paper, I don't think I like them. I bought the cheaper line of MSR stuff, are the better, more expensive jerseys any thicker or are they all like this now days. I guess I can find some NOS old ones on ebay, or wear a cotton long sleeve t-shirt.

No, they all seem the same these days, i've got 3 boys that wear them out pretty quick, i did find that some of the cheaper brands last a bit longer than the likes of Fox, and Thor, but that ain't cool to wear if your an ankle biter!

you know what, i was just talking about this, every year i normally buy a new set of riding gear, so i have quite a collection, and it is nice to mix and match, i have fox and nofear. i machine wash when needed and pressure wash if needed befor i was, my older gear is still in great shape, i have a 97 set of fox riding gear the 360 pants and fabric style jersey, faded and several small holes from trail rididng, but compared to my red white and blue fox gear i got this summer, the fox is falling off the leg, the silk jersey is ripped and tathered, and they looking like they have been in a war, to the point i have really been thinking of emailing fox and telling them, i have supported them by staying loyal for years, but i dont get free stuff, and any more value is more important then who makes them, does any one have any brands they recomend? if so please let me know.

So far I have worn the more modern thin gear from answer,msr,thor,fox and TLD.The troy lee designs is by far my favorite gear ive worn.Durable,breathes good,looks good and lasts longer then the others.The GP pant seems to melt more then the more expensve TLD gear at the knee where it sometimes comes in contact with the pipe.This is the best gear IMO:

There helmets are sick too,but I think the SE2 is overrated so I just got the 2007 SE merc: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/search/index.php?refine=1&sortOrder=Rating&srchHistoryURL =mw0ok6pq||parentCategoryID~1^superParentCategoryI D~category_root^parentCategoryName~Dirt^categoryID ~173^categoryName~Riding%20Gear@bjk4mz87||parentCa tegoryID~173^categoryID~170^categoryName~Helmets@e x3ta4yo||sort_field~Rating%20(Descending)@n2hzf1nk ||refineType~1^sub_attr_name~Brand^refineValue~Tro y%20Lee%20Designs

My big problem has always bee the inner liner getting destoyed on the other weak meshes in fox and thor,TLD seemed to hold up longer but eventually after a little while longer it ripped anyway but thats been my only problem.It did last longer so they are definately worth the extra cash.The helmets vent GREAT too.
