Need advice on 2 stroke dirt bike I have a '97 Honda CR250R, and I had this bike running beautifully last season after doing a lot of work to it. So, I had to pull the carb out of it yesterday, as the choke plunger dropped down into the carb and I couldnt get it back up without removing the carb from the bike. Once I reinstalled the carb, and fired the bike up, it idled like I was pinning the throttle, even though I wasnt. I couldn't figure out why it will not idle properly now. I pulled the carb back out, and cleaned it out to make sure the needle wasnt sticking, and the throttle cable wasnt sticking, or anything like that, with the same result. I did however turn the idle adjustment screw on the choke plunger in order to get it back out, but I cant remember which way I was spinning it, so I'm assuming that is the issue, as it was running perfectly fine before, and now it is idling as if I am pinning the throttle.. I cant seem to find a manual for this bike because it is over 20 years old, and I could use some advice from you guys who may know about these bikes. Does anybody know which way I should be turning the chokes idle adjustment screw in order to get it back to a normal air to fuel mixture and a proper idle?? |
