My pleasure. I'm quite sure that crashing on the first try is some soft of "right of passage" or initiation ritual brought on my the power of the dirtbike. Everyone does it. Those who get back on succeed, those who don't, don't.

I did see those eyes, and I knew right then and there he had to get right back on. He did awesome. You'll be able to tell if he's really hooked when it's a little warm (32 degrees) and he asks if he can go ride some more.

Tracker, GREAT shots you've got there.

Marty, I can relate to that along with the proud papa thing, son and grandson.
Love Slash X.

1Hondafan....Use that bike as a behavior tool. It works wonders as in "You sassed you mom or you didn't do your homework", no riding dude". It works wonders, honest injun.
Also show him how to wash his own bike and make him do the job himself and he will learn a bunch of things.
All this worked well for me.

Ahhhhhh, the Slash X. My old riding buds and I spent many an hour there helping them stay in business!! Used to have the best burgers and coldest beverages west of the Mississippi but haven't been there in a few years.

Yeah, buying the equipment is just the start of passing on the traditions. There are lots of trails and washes to be taught, and moto-burgers to be et; Slash-X, Jawbone, Randsburg, Heart's Cafe stories.... And new adventures to be made.
It's enough to keep a guy young for a long time.

sunrise 01/01/10
In the left hand background of my picture you can just see the top of that rock formation.
The stuff that Nature puts there tends to survive.

I would say he is hooked. Today he was asking if he could ride tomorrow even though it is like 17 degrees today.
I told him he could.
