well all you drivers better be careful, now im on the road my parents have been in discussion with a friend of ours and well, i have a truck, its an 84' chevy s-10 extended acb, so ill have a place to put the gear bags, well now im waiting for my dad to come home so we can get it to pass emissions but until then im bored:

yeah well well do the primary changes, like do the oil, the the filters, da da da da, and then pour rubbing alchohol in the gas, it reduces hydrocarbons... i think, correct me if im wrong

nice, i remember a similar start, bout 8 pickups ago i started with a 84 toyota. congrats sweet ride dude. sux bout emissions im not even sure if my 98 would pass emitions

I have a 1996 chevy s10...its great and i love it. However, i had a heck of a time getting it pass the emmisions. they kept finding things wrong with it...it sucked. I hate emmissions standards...

How many miles are on the truck? I suspect a thorough cleaning of the EGR system and fuel system are in order. Purchase a few cans of SEAFOAM engine cleaner, run this stuff through the vacuum system, pull the egr off and clean it with carb cleaner and a brush, fill up your tank with gas, and dump in another bottle of seafoam into the tank. I work in a Certified Emmissions Repair Facility in Texas and I see clogged EGR system and dirty fuel system as the #1 cause of Emissions Failures. Fuel filter should be replaced as well as the Air Filter. A thorough cleaning of the throttle body and bore is in order as well. If your dad is mechanically inlcined he should be able to do these simple service procedures for you. Good luck with the new truck!
