I think some of you will remember my friend Matt Nickel that went by the name of Toecutter on X-DB and The Good Guys/KC Riders.

Here is a picture of Matt after he took out a fence post on his brother's IT250 several years ago.

Keeto,

Are you sure that kid that you picked up a couple of times wasn't Clay (yzfracer212) on his YZ250f?

Rick,What ever happened to X-DB? I was on there all the time and I had forgotten about it until I just read your post. I know it was up and then it was like the next day I got an email saying it was going down and I went to the site and it wouldn't load and said that X-DB was closed down or something.

Sorry to hear about the crash motoman.... I must admit that has always been my nightmare, Ive always thought to myself If I had kids would I be happy with them doing this sport..
But I guess most sports can be dangerous in thier own way..
Your kid must be a winner to want to get back on the bike cos thats a pretty bad wound he got thier.

Thats to bad Motoman. Glad that MotoBoy is doing alright and wants to get back at it. Kids are tough as nails. I know my boy has wrecked a couple of times once pretty good. Just do the best to keep him safe and teach him all the stuff you know. He will be fine.

It always hurts when your kids get injured. No blame to you Motoman, there will always be a fence or something else to hit and u can't foresee everything. Good thing he wants to ride already. He is a real "hardcore" motocrosser already it seems. get the gear and let him ride when his knee is better. Take care.

Better watch out motoman, he might become the next motocross phenom if he overcomes his fear of crashing this early on. . . . .

If he is anything like my son, He "Will" be smoking you by the time he is on an 80. Heck my son was givin me a run for my money on his 65! Now I have to wait for him to tire or make a mistake to even get around him on his 85. He is only 11. Sorry he hit the post, that was a nasty lookin welp. Kids are tough though and they heal really fast. Get him all the protective gear and teach him why we wear it at all times! The post will be a good reminder for training in the future.

Best of luck to you both!
Randy

Well, now that we know he's not too broken, it's good to get that one out of the way. I think we all get a good smack at one time or another. I guess that's why we start on 50's. Good luck motoboy and go get 'em.

Motoman, its true, when your kids get hurt you would do anything to transfer the pain from them to you. Being afraid for your kids is natural and having met you and seen your posts I guarantee you future worries. Good news is he's not seriously hurt.

Glad all is ok.

P.S. Gotta get him loaded up with the equipment to protect that precious little body. Knee/shin guards are a must !!

Well heres the report.

They couldn't see much because of the tremendous swelling, but nothing seams to be broken, but they did stress that they cannot tell for sure because of the swelling/liquid inside.

They said to let him walk on it for 2-3 days and if the swelling doesn't go down then we need to take him in for a CAT scan of that area.

I really don't think that he tore anything, it was a blunt straight on hit not a hyperextend type thing.

He doesn't even care about it, he's running around and just favoring the leg a bit. I am glad we got the x-rays and that part is over with though, all I could picture was my son on these itty bitty crutches and a big ol white cast hobbling thru the door. Thank God that didn't happen.

Thanks again for the thoughts/prayers guys. You have no idea what it does for me.

Jim

glad to hear that Moto. As far as you feeling bad - it's really better he's learning from someone with experience like you. It's like hunting....not something you want to learn from the wrong people
