MX Unleashed players...lets talk...

Okay I just got this game and an Xbox. Game is really a ton of fun!

Anyone have the skinny on becoming a fast racer in Career mode? Tell me about the suspension preload technique. Seems to me the computer can go way bigger. I've been practicing various different things with body positioning and suspension preload, but haven't found the rythm yet. Also, how about the clutch? The instruction manual don't tell ya squat either.

TO PRELOAD:u lean back when your riding towards a jump and then smack the joy stick foward once u hit the top of the jump.
TO CLUTCH:You hit L1 and rev it....resulting it a jolt of speed.

Okay, on the clutch...when you hit the clutch to you have to release the gas and then hammer it again to get a boost of speed? Does it really give you a boost of speed? I thought maybe it's purpose was only for tight cornering?

Thanks for the help by the way!

Its just like a real bikes clutch exept you dont shift....you use it when your at the starting gate...hold down X and hold down R1 when the gate goes down let go of R1 and it will give you the holeshot....lean back and then foward..if u lean back the whole time you will flip...so just lean back for like 1 second then push foward...you can also use it anytime that you going slow and need speed fast...just rev it and let go....if you going fast it wont work but if you going slower it willl help alot....NP thats what Im here for to try to help..lol

The book throws me off because it shows the suspension preload using the directional pad and the body position using the stick, but from what you are telling me you would never need to use anything except the stick. Is that correct?

Also, what's up with the red bar in the lower right hand side of the screen? The book says nothing about it. Seems like it's red when I'm on the pipe.

I only use the anolog stick....and I beat alot of pro racers so I cant be wrong....just lean back and smack it foward ito the jump...there is no red bar, there is a orange bar that goes up when you preload right....once the bar is all the way up you know u preloaded good.

Hey, adjust your TV because mine is RED! LOL j/k

Seriously though, is that what it's for? That's cool, I'll pay more attention to it.

Yep hes got is right, Im done with the Career mode except for a few races. Its the same game as Motocross Madness 2 for the computer but has slightly updated graphics, newer bikes and lots of different modes of play. The controls are quite different as well but good. I miss wheelie on demand from MCM2 though. The worst thing about this game is no online support!! That is total BS!! Still its a great game and worthy of any collection, especially if you ride dirt bikes.

I play alot of games mostly first person shooters, but MX unleashed makes my head and stomache hurt if I play to long. Maybe it's just because my TV is big. :

Great game though. I like ATV fury2 better though.

I have just started getting better on MXU. The key to any of the supercross tracks is to get the preload function down so you can get your rhythm down. It is all about the triple in Supercross! LOL

I am working on actually using the "orange" bar to get a feel for preload but it's more about timing and having a feel for it.....just like real life riding.

This game is a blast. The outdoor tracks are easier (just like real life) and that is where you should master your timing and get familiar with the game. Then tackle the supercross tracks....they are a blast.

I couldn't help ya out on this one. But my 9 year old and 6 year old are whipping up on everyone. Includine myself. The 6 year old has the preloading down to an art and the 9 year old takes 1st or 2nd in nearly every race. I am lucky to get in the top 5.

Practice.

Use the run section in freestyle mode to get good w/ the preload. That helped me alot.

man you guys are pathetic with your preloading!

LOL, I play this game for hours on end. It all comes down to NOT preloading in supercross. Most tracks i can hit all the lines with no preload at all.... so focus on that. Use the clutch in the corners. If you hold the stick all the way back (like seatbounce) and do not initiate preload by pushing forward, you can stretch the jumps a little.
