Default MX in Ohio?

Anybody race much in Ohio? I have a bunch of family in Lima and Columbus and I would like to go up and stay for a few weeks this summer, probably bring my bike and do some riding. Just wondering if anyone from the site lives around there and can give me some advice on tracks to go to! Also need riding buddies. And as far as racing goes, what is the local AMA district? Any outlaw races or night series? It would be cool to do some under the lights stuff. I did one this summer in NC and it was definitely a cool experience.

I go to college in lima, there is a small riding park there and some trails in a nearby town. Down in Anna ohio there is an indoor track, and in wapakoneta there is an outdoor place. I'm not sure about hours on the tracks, but the small park is open till 6 everyday and its 10 to ride. If youre comin up this summer shoot me an email, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Sounds Alright. What is the indoor track like? Could be interesting. Also what do you mean by riding park.. is it a track? Any of em have websites? And what about racing.. how is the AMA series around here?

I'm actually a few miles outside of lima right now in Waynesfield with the fam... but didn't bring the bike and I'm driving back to NC in the morning

I live about 3 hours north of columbus. Where I live is district 12. If you don't mind the drive I have keys to ama sanctioned track. It has a outdoor motocross, outdoor supercross as well as a harescramble track. We have races under the lights in the summer. there are also several other tracks and practice tracks in the area. shoot me an email at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and if you don't want to drive 3 hours to ride I will get some information on tracks a little closer to you.

There are also tracks in Indiana and Michigan that aren't too far from Lima. Sweet16mx is in Ft. Wayne and they have night races, as well as Readsracing in North Webster, IN. The Motoplex is just north of Ft. Wayne, but it is closed right now and is for sale. I don't know if it will open back up. Log road is probably about 2hrs from Lima, near Coldwater, MI. Then, if you feel like driving for 3hrs (or a little more) Red Bud is a must ride track.

Hey Dell,
The small riding park is called Long's off road park. Ive been there a few times and its ok if you like trails and mud. Its not real big either you could ride all of it in a day easy. The trails are in a town called Mendon, I've never been there but a friend goes there somewhat often and says its pretty cool.

The indoor track is in Anna, a teacher at school and his son race there alot but again I've never been. I think its about an hour from Lima.

The outdoor track is in Wapakoneta, and its closed till spring. I dont know if its ama or anything like that but its real close to lima, probably less than a half hour.

When you come up I wouldnt mind going to whatever track you decide to race. I've never raced before but i have ridden a small private track a few times and would really like to try the rookie class.
