Default MOBIL 1 MX2T

I remember seeing some comments on this oil a while back, but I thought I would ask your exp. and or thoughts on this premix oil. It can be bought on line for about 3.60 a pint.
Here locally I get it for 4.99 a pint in so cal.
I just did a top end, and want to try a diff oil.
Thanks in advance for any info

Mods, i expect this to be moved to the 2 stroke forum, i put it here hoping it would be read a few times first.

I have ran it before in my KTM and it seemed to work okay. I have heard the concerns that it contains some amount of Kerosene and there is a potential for rust to develop.

Never seen it or know anyone that has seen it or expeirenced it. Mobil 1 are good products and I don't imagine that two synthetic two smoke oil is going to be any less of a quality product as the rest of the products. As such I think the rust concern is a myth. It needs to go to the show Mythbusters and see if it is true or not. Would any company sell any product for use in an engine that causes rust. That would be real stupid to me. Same applies with gumming up power valves.

I bet you can go those bikes with the gummed up or stuck power valves or have rust and find the real isssue is lack of preventative maintenance.

If you don't go with Mobil 1, I would suggest any synthetic oil form any body will just work fine. I have ran god knows how many different brands and have not had a single problem with any of them.

I would say run the MXT2 and be secure in the thought that it is made by the same company that makes about the best consumer available synthetic oil.

Not sure if this applies, but I run it in my weed wacker, and it runs the same to me as the cheap stuff (starts, power, etc), however, the big difference I noticed is the amount of spoog. The MX2T spooges a considerable amount less then the others I've used. So in my not so infinite wisdom, I'd say it burns cleaner??

Side note, the weird part about the stuff is it's clear, so when you mix it up, you can't tell it's mixed, so make sure and keep track of whether or not your gas has it in it or not, bacause you can't tell otherwise.

I ran it in my KTM360 for a year with zero problems. Less spooge than other oils. Good stuff.

I used to use it on my KTM 250exc's until it began pretty hard to find at Auto Zone's, so I switched to AMSOil 2000 full synthetic which I could obtain online at dealer's cost for around $6.15 a quart. Now the 2000 has been replaced with the Dominator oil for slightly more ($6.25). Normally this stuff sells for $8.50/$9.50 a quart.

Here is the link where you can order it online.

My only complaint with MX2T is that its clear and very hard to tell if you mixed it with gas. If you want, I have red oil dye for $2.00 an ounce that I will be glad to sell you. It only takes 4-6 drops to dye a pint of oil.

Also Mobil-1 makes all of Honda's lubricate line of products, which means Honda's 2 stroke synthetic is really MX2T in a Honda bottle.

I Think there is dye in honda's oil, because when I had it in the past it was red. I just picked up some MX2T today and we'll see how it works next weekend.

I use it in my Husky 125, my son's Yam 125 and used it in his old YZ85,, and in my Ryobi weedwacker. I use it 32:1 in all of them.

Never had a problem.. (well my son's old 85 spooged like mad, but everyone I know with a YZ85 had that problem. It got a little better when I changed to Boysen reeds)
