Default a little bit of help with on road 125s

I have read that MX or enduro 125s are not suitable to be on road at all. (road registered in uk) some people say that you would be going through a piston a month and youre transmission will be under extreme stress on the road..? Just wondering what everyone thinks about this and give me bit of help? Been looking at a road reg YZ125 and a TM125.

Thanks

The 2-stroke YZ would definately not be suited for road use. The engine is designed for peak performance and typically doesn't play well with constant RPM. Under any conditions, the piston ring only lasts a few hours at best before compression begins to suffer which would snowball into other problems rapidly if used under daily driving conditions.

I am unfamiliar with the TM.

I think the exc125 would be more suited for road riding than the YZ.

Why not look at something like a Kawasaki KLX?
