She's a thing of beauty, Jim. But I suspect you'll have and "new and improved" version some day. Just hang in there!

I'll give you $550.00

Cash. Right now baby.

What do you say? I'll come pick it up myself, will $550.00 drive it away?

I just read the description of the bike, maybe your not in the mood for humor. So on that I'll stress I am only kidding. I hope you get more then you ask. If you don't mind my asking man are your wounds permanent?

No problem bro, I knew you were kidding.

As for my injuries, no one can tell me if they are or not, at the very minumum I am 2 years from ever having a chance of them healing due to nerve injury.

Well if it makes you feel any better I have a few titanium rods in my back from rolling over a ford explorer 6 times at high speed. If I had a scanner I would show you. They cut my hip took bone and fused my spine man. I had more injuries then I could list here. It took them an hour and 45 minutes to cut me out of the wreckage. They landed a helicopter at a school and life flighted me to worcester mass hospital. I didn't wake up for three weeks they had me chemically paralyzed so I didn't cause myself more injury. I woke up when they were taking me off the machine that was breathing for me. They said I would have trouble walking and i'd never ride again. I ride as much as I can 5 days a week sometimes more. I just had my motor rebuilt because I drove it into the ground due to not taking into consideration how often i ride. Don't listen to them or give up. The doctors don't have the last say all the time. There is someone much more powerful watching over you. Good luck.

Well nobody has invented a time machine (not even the japanese) and I don't see one coming any time soon, just move forward and take care. Were you able to ride at all with the pins in your back there? Mine are similar but I don't have a picture. Christ those look like sheetrock screws.

They are actually longer then drywall screws, about 2.5"!

I don't look back bro, I am 100% that I will ride again, well 99.9 anyway it's just gonna take time, I am a very positive person, and beat the back and will beat this too.

To answer your question, yeah I was riding and just about back up to speed from the back when the car accident happened.

I've been through injuries that kept me from riding as well. Just because you can't ride like you used to doesn't mean you have to give it up. I had sugery earlier this year where they had to break a few of my ribs so they could butcher my lungs. This is the second time I've had it done, and the last time it took 10 years before the pain totaly cleared up.
What do you do when this happens? Figure out something else you can do with bikes. It's not as fun as riding, but some of the experiences you'll gain will help you all around. I started restoring vintage MXers and video taping and taking photos at local races. I even started building my own track. I haven't been able to ride this year, but it still has been fun, and I have been just as involved with the sport as I was before.
There's ways that life sucks, and you are only going to get older. If one part of you is down for the count, work on improving another part of yourself. Learn how to build the ultimate motor, or rebuild suspension like the pros - unless you can do this already.
Sorry if I sound preachy - I've been there many times because of issues not related to riding, or crashing - just because I'm that lucky. I know how it is.

Just be glad you are not in the hospital! That sucks more than not riding.
