So buying 2 of them is still a lot cheaper than a night in the ER & it's a hell of a lot cheaper than 3 1/2 in the shock trauma ICU on a ventilator, trust me on this one!

Been there done that & don't ever want to go back!

I'm not saying he wasted or is wasting his money, what I meant, is after that kind of crash, I'd want my son to have another one if he was still going to ride/race!!!

He said his son went out and finished practice? with no Leatt Brace or chest protector?

If so, that's not the smartest move

If I can find a Leatt brace to buy, I'm getting one

I seen that Drew and was shaking my head also. You are right, not a smart move. I would have a least got out the duct tape and done some patching up for practice if nothing else.

It's a roost protector not a chest protector.

Roost deflector if you wanna be absolutely correct. We commonly call them chest protectors because we aren't the ones worrying about law suits.

I know - semantics. I'm looking into an ice-hockey shoulder 'protector' as my Thor let me down - my shoulder is still not good. I used to race with a Jofa shoulder 'protector' all those years ago and feel it would have given me better protection than my oh so cool Thor. I also like the new inflatible shoulder/chest deflectors.

Those braces seem cool, but they sure are pricey!

This brace sounds awesome. I did a bit of research and came up with this.

Vital MX - Motocross Videos - Feature Video Galleries - A Message From David Bailey

Very interresting, indeed.

Im glad the boy is ok!

The brace is awesome, and IMHO, well worth the money. I agree, they are pricey, but how do you put a price on your ability to walk? I s'pose that's a bit of an extreme viewpoint, but I've seen the effects of the brace firsthand...I fully believe there's a young man still walking today, perhaps even alive, because he was wearing the Leatt.

Just read a report over on Houstonmotocross.com about Jeff Dement & his bad get off in Canada.

He's still in the Hospital with some serious injuries, but his wife said that without his Leatt he would have boken his neck!
